However, in most cases these are theoretical positions and can be in error by as much as 300 feet. When the mapping program began in 1987, map accuracy became a low priority because of both cost and business need.</div><div style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px; text-align:justify;'><br /></div><div style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px; text-align:justify;'>To meet new and evolving business needs of Skagit County, the County must rebuild its base map foundation by first creating an accurate geodetic framework (PLSS control, Street Centerlines, Right-Of-Way, and Parcels). From this framework, County maps can then be rebuilt and realigned to meet the changing business needs of Skagit County. This cannot be done by simply rubber-sheeting the maps. Business needs require accuracy to be (+/- 1 meter) of horizontal accuracy.</div><div style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px; text-align:justify;'><br /></div><div style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px; text-align:justify;'><span style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif !important; font-size:medium; text-align:start; font-weight:bold;'>Contact Information:</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>For more information about this map, please contact the Skagit County GIS Department:</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>1700 East College Way</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>Mount Vernon, WA 98274</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>(360) 416-1168</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>Fax: (360) 336-9466</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>email: gis@co.skagit.wa.us</span><br /><br /><span style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif !important; font-size:medium; text-align:start; font-weight:bold;'>Problems?</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>Please report any map issues to Skagit County Geographic Information Services:</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>1700 East College Way</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>Mount Vernon, WA 98274</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>(360) 416-1168</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>Fax: (360) 336-9466</span><br /><span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:medium; text-align:start;'>email: gis@co.skagit.wa.us</span><br /><br /><img alt='Skagit County' src='https://www.skagitcounty.net/Home/images/logo/translogo125.png' style='max-width:100%; height:auto;' /><br /><a href='https://www.skagitcounty.net/' rel='nofollow ugc' style='color:rgb(0, 97, 155); text-decoration-line:none; font-family:inherit;' target='_blank'>Skagit County</a><br /><a href='https://www.skagitcounty.net/Home/draftTermsandConditions.htm' rel='nofollow ugc' style='color:rgb(0, 97, 155); text-decoration-line:none; font-family:inherit;' target='_blank'>Skagit County Terms And Use</a></div> |
